How membership works

What do I get as a member?
A reserved seat entitles the member to receive all qualifying runners for that strategy table the night before a race day — or a clear notice that there are no qualifiers that day. We send the runner, the race, the time, and a suggested stake for their Working Bank and staking plan, with clear instructions and one-click access to Betfair’s racecard. Full training is provided. Members place their own stakes on the exchange. We never hold their money. Also: reports, Betfair help if you need it, and exclusivity so each table stays small. Strategy recipes stay black-box. The seat fee is for that information and place at the table — not a tipster subscription.
How many seats are there?
The default is one seat per strategy table: a £5,000 Working Bank for that seat, a staking plan the member chooses, a £50 stake collar and a £100 stake cap per qualifying runner. Want more size at the same table? Reserve more seats — each seat has its own Working Bank, staking plan, £50 collar, £100 cap, and fee path. Two or more seats at the same table always receive the same qualifiers. Extra seats mean a proportionately higher stake allowance on those same runners (for example two seats → up to £200 on that qualifier), not different tips. House shape 15² (up to 15 seats per table) keeps total stake pressure on each qualifier for that table around £1,500 at £100 per seat.
What does membership cost?
A seat is an annual allocation at a capped table — not a leave-anytime subscription. £1,200 + VAT / year founder minimum (£1,440 inc. VAT at 20%; ≈ £100 + VAT / month). Lock 1, 3 or 5 years paid upfront. The annual seat fee is access to a capped table. Founder seats start at the published minimum; each calendar year the house base rises by £10 (ex VAT) for renewals and new seats (£1,200/yr ≈ £100/month becomes £1,210/yr after one year — monthly always = annual ÷ 12). Once locked, that annual rate stands for the lock or renewal period. Bids and offers are stated as £X per month for Y years; the total including VAT is always shown before you commit. If there is no waiting list, the price is the base at the then-current rate. When a waiting list exists, the clearing / offer price is the higher of the minimum at that date and the relevant bid. Locking 1, 3 or 5 years fixes the annual seat rate you pay for that term. The success fee percentage is separate and published — it is not “whatever the market will bear” month to month. Seat allocation, renewal, and waitlist-offer payments are by bank transfer only. Our fair charging structure: Built to work well for both investorbet and its members. Many fee models tilt toward the house; this one charges a success fee only on each new high in that seat’s recommended Internal Working Bank — once per high-water mark, not again on recovery. We never hold your money. We recommend a qualifier and a suggested stake based on what the member has told us they want. They are under no obligation to place a stake, to use the suggested stake, or to take that qualifying runner. Fees and the Internal Working Bank still follow the recommended path as though they had. There is a slight valuation bias that upside on a strong seat path can exceed downside in fee terms — that is disclosed, not hidden. Working Bank (WB): the balance you see and can edit — usually your exchange float plus any savings you earmark. Optional: log actual stake and actual odds on each guidance line so your own figures stay accurate, or simply set the WB to one amount (for example savings + Betfair). WB is yours; deposits and withdrawals do not change the fee path. Internal Working Bank (IWB): investorbet’s fee ledger for that seat. It is not editable by you. It starts at the same £5,000 as WB, then moves only on every qualifier we recommend at the recommended stake and Betfair Starting Price (BSP) outcome for that seat’s staking plan. We recommend a qualifier and a suggested stake based on what the member has told us they want. They are under no obligation to place a stake, to use the suggested stake, or to take that qualifying runner. Fees and the Internal Working Bank still follow the recommended path as though they had. The success-fee high-water mark is tracked on this IWB path. Each seat is its own lifecycle — you can hold several seats, including more than one at the same table. Each seat has its own WB, IWB, and success-fee high-water mark. Moving a seat to another table (subject to availability) continues that seat’s banks and high-water mark — whether profit or loss — as if you carried the seat with you; the seat rate follows the new table’s rate if different. Closing a seat does not wipe a big recommended win or hide underperformance: any crystallised or still-due high-water success fee can be settled within 6 months of close. Household totals are the sum of seats — we do not merge banks across seats. Staking plan changes: if you change plan before 10:00 UK on a race day, that day’s recommended stakes (and IWB) use the new plan; after that time, the new plan starts the following race day. You may still size any individual exchange stake differently — that is up to you; only the IWB follows the issued plan rules. We recommend a qualifier and a suggested stake based on what the member has told us they want. They are under no obligation to place a stake, to use the suggested stake, or to take that qualifying runner. Fees and the Internal Working Bank still follow the recommended path as though they had. We talk about qualifiers, suggested stakes, and guidance — not “must-stake” instructions. The success fee is calculated on the recommended path at the suggested stake and BSP — not as a share of what you personally did on the exchange. Betfair (and similar) exchange winnings are often treated as tax-free betting for UK individuals — confirm with your own tax adviser, as rules can change. investorbet’s charges are different: annual seat fees and success fees are fees for services (research, capped tables, guidance). They are not tax-free betting winnings; they are invoiced with VAT where applicable and sit outside any “tax-free” exchange P/L. Strategies illustrations deduct the strategy success fee only (incl. VAT) from the modelled Internal Working Bank path. The annual seat fee is paid separately for access and never enters that path. There is no monthly floor fee and no old-style fee safety cap inside the model — if that seat’s Internal Working Bank has not made a new high-water mark, nothing is deducted. Strategy success fee: 20% + VAT of each new high in that seat’s Internal Working Bank (equity), crystallised on the datasheet Fee column (incl. VAT ≈ 24% gross of the rise above the prior high-water mark). Charged once on that new high — then nothing more until the path makes a fresh peak. If the Internal Working Bank falls, recovery back to the previous high is not charged; growth is not hampered by fees on the way back. Flat or down vs the mark → Fee column £0. The fee follows the seat’s recommended path — not whether you placed the exchange trade. 15² — up to 15 tables × 15 seats (225 seats). Live tables from 1 November 2026. Seat registration opens 1 October 2026.
What is Variable vs Fixed Success Fee?
On top of the Seat Fee you choose one Success Fee for the term. Variable: 20% + VAT on each new month-end Internal Working Bank high-water mark, from when you join, calculated monthly. Fixed: a set amount per quarter in advance, equal to 50% of the historic Variable Success Fees for a matching 1, 3 or 5 year window on that Table, and will not be less than £300 + VAT (£360 including VAT) per quarter. The pounds for each Table are on the datasheet. If the Strategy performs well, Fixed can work in your favour. If it performs badly, it gives us a safety net. Look at the figures. It is your call.
How does the waiting list work?
Waiting list: the highest on the list is a formal bid. If they do not pay by bank transfer within 7 days, they are removed from the waitlist. The next person is then offered at their own bid (not the previous bidder’s), still subject to the minimum at that date — each gets the same 7 days. Equal bids: longer lock preferred; if still equal, first registered. Tables show waitlist depth and the current highest bid (for example: “Waitlist for this table: N; current highest bid: £X per month for Y years”, with totals incl. VAT). The top bidder may not pay (and will be removed), and seats may free when people leave — so a lower bid can still succeed.
How does seat renewal work?
Renewal: notice 30 days before the lock ends. You have 7 days to pay by bank transfer, or the seat is offered onward so a replacement can be in and paid for the end date. The incumbent must match the £ amount (the clearing price), not the waitlist lock term — you choose your own lock length (1, 3 or 5 years). You may move table subject to availability; the seat rate follows the new table’s rate if different. Critical: if you switch table, that seat’s Internal Working Bank and success-fee high-water mark continue from the previous table, whether profit or loss. Seat allocation, renewal, and waitlist-offer payments are by bank transfer only.
How do you justify your fees?
Built to work well for both investorbet and its members. You pay for research, publishing historic modelled paths, keeping each table small, and daily rules-based guidance. The annual seat is access; the success fee (20%+VAT) aligns us with each seat’s Internal Working Bank path. See Strategies datasheets for worked Fee-column examples.
Are investorbet fees tax-free like Betfair returns?
Betfair (and similar) exchange winnings are often treated as tax-free betting for UK individuals — confirm with your own tax adviser, as rules can change. investorbet’s charges are different: annual seat fees and success fees are fees for services (research, capped tables, guidance). They are not tax-free betting winnings; they are invoiced with VAT where applicable and sit outside any “tax-free” exchange P/L.
What is Working Bank vs Internal Working Bank?

They are under no obligation to place a stake, to use the suggested stake, or to take that qualifying runner. Fees and the Internal Working Bank still follow the recommended path as though they had. How are modelled bank figures calculated?
Paths start from a modelled £5,000 bank and assume every qualifier for that strategy is taken at the recommended stake size. Results use Betfair Starting Price after commission. The Fee column is the success fee including VAT on the Internal Working Bank path — not the annual seat. Your live Working Bank will differ if you skip, resize, or log actuals.
When do you launch?
Live tables from 1 November 2026. Seat registration opens 1 October 2026.
Can I keep my bank in a savings account?
Yes — and we encourage it. Put money in an instant-access savings account and earn interest while you follow the strategy. Transfer to and from your own exchange account as necessary. We never hold that money. You can set your Working Bank to reflect savings + exchange; the Internal Working Bank still follows recommendations only.
Can I share strategy guidance with others?
No. Anyone found sharing strategy guidance or qualifiers will be removed. Sharing can ruin the opportunity for everyone involved. Discretion is part of the product and must be respected.
What is the black-box strategy?
We publish results and Working Bank models, not the full selection recipe. In a legal dispute, methodology can be shown to solicitors under a suitable NDA.
